Jealousy

Jealousy

A Poem by Crifa

I am jealous, so jealous,
At all that you do.
I am jealous, so jealous,
At everything you say.
But I watch and study,
As if you're my prey.

What can I do to resist,
The temptation of all your success,
Just pull me back into the mist,
It's time for life's halftime recess.

Stop this pang,
Stop this hate,
Because your self-gain,
Is not my fate.

I want your wins,
I want your glory,
But when I look at your life...
It isn't my story.

The last stanza and the last two lines just some up what jealousy really is to me. I loved the rhythm of this.

I absolutely love the flow. Beautifully-written! I adore these lines:

"But I watch and study,
As if you're my prey."
"Because your self-gain,
Is not my fate."

Excellent writing!
