My Want

My Want

A Poem by Crifa

I want so many things,
Things that cannot be.
I want so many things,
Things that just aren't me.

I want this,
And I want that,
But I am lazy,
Might as well be fat.

My mind is ready,
My mind is keen.
For this change,
To come into the scene.

My body tries,
It does its best,
But like most others,
It wants to rest.

Taking life easy,
Taking life "right",
Isn't what I want,
It doesn't take fight.

I need to battle my flesh,
Listen to my heart,
To get what I want,
Weakness must part.

I love the last line. I also love the rhyme scheme. You have a very good idea Here and i think you displayed it correctly. I wouldn't really say dr. Suess, because you have less of a childish play. I really like the past line of the last few stanzas. Really hits me

I like how in some verses you give a dr. suess rhyme scheme and then some were a two sentence ryhme and free verse. I like how the total selfawareness aspect brought out all that you wanted to say and that you show us who you really are without being afraid. This is a very inspirational poem to other poets who have trouble finding themselves.

This is kick butt :D
