Dear Ana

Dear Ana

A Poem by Tian
"

Never get into Ana.

"

My dear ana,

my new religion.

You made me realise,

an alternative in

how to measure my self worth,

how to be attractive.

Ana, you whispered to me

you will be perfect, if you follow me.

And so I nod yes,

please make me be perfect.

So here I go, my dear ana.

Skip my dinner,

maybe lunch too,

and so did breakfast,

go in the bin.

Any extra?

Mia will help me out.

Did you see, ana?

that ten pounds, gone

easily.

But maybe, i can lose

Another ten.

My dear ana,

Look at my collarbones,

that are sharp, like wings

of an angel.

My ribs, they protrude,

proudly showing off.

And one day, ana,

when I looked into

the mirror, maybe I will

smile at myself,

and say

Don’t I look pretty?

I like the symbolism you made for this poem. For me, this poem can actually be interpreted as how love can somehow destroy someone. :) Very nice poem :)

Thats a interpretation I never thought of! thank you for the review :)
Well sad- self harm for beauty is a lie that the mind plays on one- Beauty is within not without and you are beautiful just the way you are not according to how thin or fat you are- self love and appreciation is needed- if someone doesn’t appreciate you the way u are they not worth the time of day- a beautiful body and face fades with age but a beautiful mind and soul stays forever beautiful- 🌹

Wow, this was a chilling poem. I liked how you personified anorexia and bulimia, and how much they have a hold over people's lives. Definitely made me stop to think.
