Tainted Shine

Tainted Shine

A Poem by Tatiana Lexia

My head is on your shoulder.

Your hand is on my hand.

"I wish that we were older."

I fully understand.

Heart once wrapped;

It's now been set free.

The question once capped:

"Do you love me?"

The question's left unasked--

I already know the answer.

You've made me unmasked,

Like a ballerina dancer.

Your head is against mine.

I can’t help but shy away.

To protect your tainted shine.

That is when you say:

“I love you, too.”

From me it’s softly spoken.

I mean it through and through;

My heart has been awoken.

Wrap your arms around me

And please don’t let me go.

I love you so completely

And I’ll forever let it show.
