The City

The dark, hungry under belly of Seattle Washington.

The full moon, heavy, dripping
a crimson glow
The werewolves are out hunting
their voices menacing and low

Darkness cloaks the city
wide and deep
Vampires, blood hungry
seek living heartbeats

The city shimmers with death
creatures of the dark side
Their hunger draws those alive
until so many have died

The full moon rides over the city
the dead come to the living
The city is awash with blood
they take, forever void of giving

OMG I can almost hear, see and smell the evil of the underbelly of Seattle..........great descriptive terms, and the image is mesmerizing! A really beautiful picture to accompany your vivid poem!! I really like the line, "The full moon rides over the city"..........great!

An interesting scene. People usually think of the countryside when thinking about werewolves and vampires.

This one makes we think twice about visiting Seattle but most likely these night creatures feasting on the living are in every city and town. Very descriptive and chill inducing. You did a great job creating this poem..
