What would I do without you?

What would I do without you?

A Poem by Tks

Just last night
I appreciated with all of my might
What would happen if you left this world before me
Nay, I say, No!
I see no purpose for living, no reason for
Spring to bloom
Summer to enjoy
Autumn to tuck in cosily

I see only Winter
The sharp, howling winds
The frostbites surround me with
A marvellous vengeance
Mocking my earlier arrogance
The Earth dances with the Sun
Alas, the Moon!
Cheeky thing she is,
She steals the show sometimes

The clock ticks away
Tick-tock
A second down
Tock-tick
Two seconds down
Is time on my side
The clock indeed has
Two Cupid arrows
Don't be stupid
Tick-tock
My heart skips a beat
Tick-tock
Another beat is skipped
I see you
Feel you
Smell your intoxicating scent
Another beat
A toast!
To my dark-haired damsel
Pour that disgusting concoction
Till we can't find our mouths no more
I am back in this damned darkness

Memories a gathering light
Normal people have no idea how beautiful the dark is
With you
It is getting dark, my love...
Very dark...
Very...
...
..
.

You describe perfectly what it is like to lose someone cannot live without though it was only a thought of losing said loved one which stirred your emotions. I especially enjoyed the Shakespearean ending...

Come, bitter conduct, come, unsavoury guide!
Thou desperate pilot, now at once run on
The dashing rocks thy sea-sick weary bark!
Here’s to my love! O true apothecary!
Thy drugs are quick. Thus with a kiss I die.

Beautifully imagined and written!

It becomes really hard to imagine a life without our loved ones. This work is outstanding! I liked it :)

The piece is bursting with emotion: anguish and grief over a separation or loss of a loved one. The ending is quite eerie but i am always under the impression that as we allow ourselves to sulk in darkness, we'll soon realize that the world continue to revolve even in his/her absence. i like your writing style.

A very strong description of separation and loneliness. You led the reader to time of gathering thoughts of things lost and cannot be found. I liked the flow of thoughts leading to the very sad ending. Thank you fro sharing the excellent poetry.

Heart wrenching. Very well done. Don't want to think about it. Have a wonderful Saint Valentine's Day with your loved ones.

Tks, You sometimes (often?) write about darkness but I can always know that YOU know the light will find you and embrace you, that darkness precedes dawn, and unless you can stop the world from rotating it will always be, whether we can SEE the dawn or not. I always sense that optimism peeking out from behind your verbal clouds. I may be wrong about that, but I call 'em as I see 'em. Very nice piece, Tks, very nice. take care...dan

Wow, the flow and progression of the poem were spot on, I usually dislike love poems, but this piece was more than just a love poem I could feel the emotion as if they were my very on. Good one!

It is dark with mistery and misery love Tks . Nice flow in the poem .
I enjoy it and thank you for sharing

This is such an emotional piece, I find love poems usually less gripping than the others but this one had me by the neck.. great finish especially. Loved the darkening yet comforting atmosphere you created. Great work again ! :) cheers!

In the final analysis even being with them in their dark is better than being without them in yours Tks.
I really connected with this and I liked the method you used to communicate in 'real time' how each second must drag when they are not by your side :
"The clock ticks away
Tick-tock
A second down
Tock-tick
Two seconds down" - its genius - like that real-time TV show with Kiefer Sutherland - 24

the phrases "a second down/ two seconds down" has the same amount of beats as a phrase that amateur photo enthusiasts would use to count seconds while developing "one elephant" - "two elephants" etc. was that a coincidence?

great work my friend. :)
