Intelligent Life Forms

Intelligent Life Forms

A Poem by Tobias H. Reese
"

whatever.

"

When man was young- post arboreal

he lit the fire and ran

he claimed some rights, held on to something

that he didn't understand.

Cold metatarsals, but enlarged brain size

anticipating bloom or doom

intoxicating, those first steps forward

he tried to reason, far too soon.

stone tools and magic, agressive behaviour

he was learning with his..dirty hands

he followed his food supply

carried a virus, entered all those foreign lands.

You can try to stop him, you can try and try

but he only listens to himself speak

better hurry up now, is he a threat to himself?

the clowners becoming a threat to us all.

Domestication, but he was the wild life.

"Farm eh suitical" drugs?

railroads to phone lines, mechanic nature

will someone give that tree a hug?!

Lost in a cold war, with his own species

haughty automobiles

he's taking pictures, of himself mating

computer graphics, love over-kill

A feast at dinner, he's got super markets!

is there no meaning to what is enough?

Slash agriculture, like pampered vultures

man starts complaining, just give him more stuff.
