Cursing the Unlucky Stars

Cursing the Unlucky Stars

A Poem by Tomás Ó Cárthaigh
"

My luck is OK... just the bloody stars out of sync!

"
My luck is all right from time to time
But crisis I always find
Finds me more the more I seek to avoid
For my stars are never aligned.

It's as if the rocky road must we walked
Uphill the whole way to the top
Knowing my luck I will be snowblind
When on the summit to see the view I stop!

The stars give direction to those who seek through the night; but are no help in the light. But what to do with too much light ... close your eyes and hope for the best I guess. A poignant metaphysical write, Tomas:)

I think we have to give serious consideration to the fact that fate is often moody, issuing sweet oranges one day and sour lemons the next. The phrase, "fickle finger of fate" didn't write itself, after all. Hopefully, your stars will soon shift in a favorable way.
