We Love Football...The REAL Kind

We Love Football...The REAL Kind

A Poem by Antoñyo
"

So, I return here to see a "We Love Football" poem and get excited only to learn that it wasn't American football. This HAD to be written afterwards.

"
I love football. The real kind, not that soccer stuff.
I can watch it all day and never get enough.
Of course, I kid. There's always other things I need to do.
Like work, cook, clean and write things for you.
But the week has seven days and I split my time well.
Sundays are for Football and avoiding places like hell.
I pray for my loved ones, their health and well-being.
God bless them, one and all, then the team that I'm seeing.
My heart must be big, for it pours all out for this sport.
But it's always full and willing when an angel I court.
'til such times come, concepts like "team" and "brotherhood"
are the focus at hand while trying to do some worldly good.
The memories will remain and the lessons will last.
For, this game turns boys into men and rids pain from the past.
Yes, I love American football, 'cause this sport is the best!
The wrongly-named sport where they kick a lot less.
