Oh Dark of Night

Oh Dark of Night

A Poem by Trace
"

A poem at my returning. Hope you like it

"

Bring back the stars

Oh dark of night

That they may sparkle for my love,

That they would glisten in her eyes

Bring back your twinkling light

Bring back the moon

Oh dark of night

That it may glow upon her hair,

That it may light her face for me

Bring back your noble light

Bring back the sun

Oh dark of night

That it would warm her tender heart,

That it may shine till even tide

Bring back your golden light.

First off, it's nice to see another Utahn on here. I know my profile says I'm in Texas but I was raised in Tooele.
Second, This poem touches me deeply right now..it's what I needed. I'm away from home for work for 8 more months... and as I lay in bed I long for my love...
Ha I won't get into detail here but thank you for this literature. It's what I needed.

Glad to see you in circulation. :)
You have been away too long. I've missed you and your gorgeous poetry.
You words are as soft as the moonlight, as precious as the the golden light you speak of...
I'm thrilled to read "you" again.

Hugs, Julie

You should see the picture I found for my poem
Interesting line. The first two stanzas and the following refrains were seamlessly lovely.

NOTES: The third stanza and it's following refrain, while beautifully stated, don't seem to flow for me with the first two stanzas and their following refrains.
