Pretty Shade of Meadow

Pretty Shade of Meadow

A Poem by Trace
"

Spring is right around the corner

"

Willow limbs and silver dew,

Greet the early morning fair

Azure skies and butterflies,

Welcome those who venture there,

Soft winds blow as wispy breath,

Meadowlarks sing their tune,

Bluebird's breeze amongst the trees,

As the sun outshines the moon,

There among the lily pads,

The bullfrogs croak and call,

In waters clear, they have no fear,

Near cattails standing tall,

In the middle of a pristine pond,

The fish come up to play,

Rippled quakes, in circled breaks,

Morning mists fade away,

Distant storm clouds gather,

Their moisture bathes the earth,

In sunshine’s glow, brilliant rainbow,

Sprinkling joy, they disperse their worth,

With evenings setting sun,

Moon-shadows sway and creep,

Nighttime falls, the cricket calls,

As they sing the meadow to sleep.

So enchanting to read you here in these halls again! Even the inclusion of crickets is most welcoming on a morning of temperatures in the thirties, here in San Diego! Simply beautiful, Trace!
