Departure from Childhood

Departure from Childhood

A Poem by Tracie Skarbo

You’re grown now,
Toys are in the past.
You’re in the fast lane,
Traveling way too fast…

You’ve climbed the labor ladder,
You’ve had the ambition to succeed.
You’ve done more in your life,
Than you ever hoped or dreamed…

Hard decisions are gone,
You will complete life’s
Journey,
It won’t be long…

Slow down,
Take time to breathe.
You have done everything,
You wanted to achieve…

oh my! the simplicity of this poem certainly gives it strength! what a great eye opener, what a great way to remind someone to "stop and smell the roses"! I LOVE how you managed to say so much with so few words!

I so agree here Tigra with your message, to me it says that once all the hard work has been completed, it is time to smell the roses and enjoy, but don't ever lose your ambition to keep active. Great lesson.

What a wonderful message to someone passing from childhood to young adulthood. The time seems to go so fast. Nicely written!!1
