Happiness...

Happiness...

A Poem by Tracie Skarbo

Happiness is being bold enough

To look for your passion

And embracing it when you have found it

It is when you let your passion become what it must be

And having the strength to evolve into who you will become

While it is in service to you

When you are not afraid of stepping out

When everyone else tells you

That you are a fool

Those who have these words for you

Have not heard the call

Of what is

Or they are too afraid of

The light and the call

To grasp it for themselves

They don’t want you to step higher

Or stretch further

In knowledge of yourself; lest they be left behind

So they struggle to pull you back

Into darkness

Into their fettered confusion

Pulling a yoke from anywhere

To define you

With promises that this will make you whole and substantial

Placing debt, the sacrament, upon your shoulders

Until you suffocate beneath its weight

The depression cured, if you take their pills

This is how they like you; blinders make the obedient horse

Unplug yourself, take back the reins

Look deep within yourself

Courage on to see who it is behind your eyes

Determine what is truly important

Meet your dragon and draw your sword

Happiness is finding your passion

Recognizing it when you see it

And being brave enough to live it

Sadly, many don't ever get to do that. Blessed is the few that reach within and find that passion...Sunflower

What more is there to say? Life is but a flicker of light upon a greater candles wick. Poof! and the flame is no longer. Draw from it's warmth while it's alive, for it's life is short lived by comparison... Outstanding, and enlightening piece.

And when that day arrives (which I eagerly await) I'll be the first to sing and dance in the rain..

Such wise, insightful words and we all thank you for sharing them.
