Fear

Fear  [feer] –noun a distressing emotion aroused by impending danger, evil, pain, etc., whether the threat is real or imagined; the feeling or condition of being afraid.

I stand, the night closing around me, I stare into the dark whirlpool of black, I feel the cold wind lash at my skin, I am afraid. Nowhere to turn, Nowhere to go, Lost in the woods, Stranded in a void of nothingness. Rustling of leaves, Silence. Light footsteps, Silence. Frozen I stand, My heart racing in my chest, The silence like a thick blanket, There is a tap on my shoulder. I force myself to move, I turn, I see, I  Scream!

i liked this poem very much.i was just wondering what the person was afraid of. perhaps just fear itself?

I thoroughly enjoyed this writing, and there's just one mystery unsolved, I'm not sure wether I'd like to know what was the speaker afraid of, because by not telling, you let the readrs imagine their own fears into the poem, which is great. Excellent writing.
