Eye's Wide Shut

Eye's Wide Shut

A Poem by Poetic Justice
"

The battle for custody of my kids.

"
I can pretend,
That the pain's not real,
I try to block it out,
Til I'm so numb that I don't feel,
The road is just one way,
I'm either right or wrong,
I've made many bad decisions,
I was wrong all along,
For 13 years,
I was daddy of the year,
It changed in an instant,
Your left with eyes full of tears,
I give you my word,
Ima make this right,
I will never give up,
Your daddy will fight,
I will never stop,
Until your homeword bound,
It's true I was lost,
And it's true im found,
Hold on a little longer,
My little man and baby girl,
It won't be long now,
Til im back in your world,
Don't even worry,
Don't let it bother,
Soon you'll be back,
In the arms of your father...
Jordan, and Jayden, hold on a little longer guys....Daddy's gonna bring you both home...Daddy loves you..

The poem is very clear and well paced. The ending is jaw tightening because the last line makes this real connection to reality and how someone and this position feels.
I would reread and fix the couple of "i" mistakes.
