my first hair cut

my first hair cut

A Poem by Steven

So Delilah I guess I’m singing to you with no sight

Strange I still see your eyes never the less

I’m down and I just had my first hair cut

What now do I have when there is no promise for God to bless

My heart feels as heavy as this grinding wheel

So I just left it shut

Now I’m performing in your crowd, hearing how you feel

What I search to find I’ll never see

And what I’m about to push will ensure us never to be

At last I’ll say it and repent, God just let me die with this

And the philistines, Delilah I hope your silver was worth this.
