Bird Watching

Bird Watching

A Poem by Horse of a Different Color

I was doing just that, bird watching.

I see you sitting there atop that tree,
Looking up as you look down on me,
Admiring your spirit that is free.
Your puzzling at my grounded being,
Hoping to see all that you have seen and are seeing.
Wishing to fly as you do on a gust of wind,
You lead a simple life with peace of mind.
With the preponderance of places that you could make a home,
But still you don't and continue to roam.
Such is the life of a simple bird.
