For Love & Jack 5

For Love & Jack 5

A Poem by Horse of a Different Color
"

Things i think write while enjoying a glass of whiskey.

"
I sit here staring into a glass of whiskey,
Second guessing what has become of my life.
Trying to find the facts through the lies and half truths,
Knives more than one sticking out of my back.
A chivalrous man i once was,
Far from that and far from the true me I am now.
Finding ones self is hard enough to do,
Doing it during turbulance is next to impossible.
Slowly the good days begin to out number the bad,
But still once in a blue moon, down the hill I do fall.
Strong on the outside i try to be,
On the inside is pain and tears that only i can see.
There is but one quest i have for myself,
The glass is half full, The whiskey half gone.
So, I sit here staring into a glass of whiskey.

Short and powerful. I like how the first line and last, repeat. I love the line "The glass is half full, The whiskey half gone"
