The Only Thing

The Only Thing

A Poem by Benjamin L. Weekly

The only thing softer than her skin is her laugh,
Colliding with my depressed soul in a fire of delight.

The only thing harder than her stare is her absence,
Sending me on a lonely trek by moonlight

The only thing greater than her spirit is her love,
Enveloping me in the tender cocoon of affection.

The only thing missing from her life is me,
Still too young to court her hand in marriage.

Benjamin
this is very emotional and very heartfelt, feeling you can't court marriage?
My engagement lasted 6 years.........if the love is there then follow your
heart.........
the stanza's each on there own stood beautifully conveying the depth of
feeling and love............the way each started "The only thing........".....as if
life centers on this situation.
Beautiful piece.
