Recalling Time

Recalling Time

A Poem by Truly Ross-Wisehart

Recall the day I gazed upon your face
You were entranced silent in depth of thought
Somehow your frown seemed rather out of place
I waited for a smile, it was for naught
Recall the hour I stepped into your light
You looked at me in utter disbelief
Somehow you thought you would give me a fright
I would steal off one night just like a thief
Recall the moment I opened your heart
You backed away for surely it would bleed
Somehow you managed not to fall apart
I promised to be all you'd ever need

It's true, I meant each single word I said
It's true, by my own heart to you I'm led
