A Renewed Hope

A Renewed Hope

A Poem by Tsuki Usagi
"

The night the darkness started, I was sure it would consume me....

"
The night the darkness started,
I was sure it would consume me.
As the days went by it continued to grow
until I couldn't see.
I couldn't see the light ahead
so then I gave up hope.
And without hope in my life
all I could think about was a rope.
Yes a rope around my neck,
That would end it all.
The pain, the suffering
and no one to answer my call.
That call for help that I cried!
I cried for days and days!
Many came to answer
but relief was still denied.
But then came a sudden light..
A light I thought I'd never see..
And then came a smiling face.
Looking directly at me!
That smile gave me hope again.
Hope to continue on.
No matter how hard the times will get,
to the darkness I will no longer be drawn
Because as long as I have that light..
YOUR light to be exact,
the darkness with fade with time
and my heart will remain intact.

This poem was written, while drunk, after the love of my life went and broke my heart and left me for his boss. Battling depression I wanted to end my life because I just couldn't see a path ahead of me anymore. That is, until I met another guy. Being around him made me so happy that I started to see hope again. This poem speaks of that happiness in the end. This poem does have a sequel to it called "That Delicate Flower."
