I Am The Twilight Dancer

I Am The Twilight Dancer

A Poem by Twilight Dancer
"

The title is the prelude ... to the answer.

"

I am The Twilight Dancer.

I wake each day to that time and space,

Between night and the dawn of a new day.

Venturing outside, I look up to the heavens

And say Good Morning to my Maker;

Only then can the dance begin.

Crickets, tree frogs, and cicadas provide the music.

Tanagers, wrens, cardinals, and blue birds sing the lyrics with their beautiful sweet song.

The ambiance is set by the fragrance of sweet honeysuckle and gardenia,

Lush green grass glistening with dew is the highly polished dance floor.

The soft, cool, gentle breeze fingers through my auburn tresses,

While caressing my face like cleansing, fresh water.

My mind begins to dance with words, thoughts, and senses;

And creativity becomes my partner.

The music reaches a crescendo,

My mind, soul, and spirit join as one;

As the sun begins to rise over the eastern horizon.

The last dance is called – a waltz;

And I dance more slowly, knowing the dénouement is near.

Not to be gone forever, just for the day;

I am The Twilight Dancer and will dance tomorrow’s morn.

ooooh nice poem i liked it and very good imagery. i really liked the use of the word 'twilight'.

and the blue writing and your wording made the poem really calming :)

And say Good Morning to my Maker;
Only then can the dance begin."

a beautiful poem; filled with moving imagery. well...given your name...I hope you take the time whenever possible to dance in evening's light as well! I found it amusing that you put the definition in there....as if you knew someone would say in review: " hey twilight comes just before night" lol. there is nothing like dancing with nature to refresh the soul. nicely done.

Wow, that's so beautiful. I even burned with the desire to become the partner of the Twilight Dancer.
Your poem touches - your words picture the world where I recognize myself in the fresh smell of the air of your poem.... Let my hearty applause correct my weak English.
Thank you. It was so fine to read your poem.
It was unforgettable - the unforgettable were not the words that were explained to me by my dictionary on English, but the spirit that was sensed while reading your poem.
Thank you once more.
