Broken From The Inside

Broken From The Inside

A Poem by Broken Like An Angel

My heart turns to ash. Whispering white.
Darkness returns, you've taken my light.
Feeling the rain drip upon my skin like acid, melting my hopes.
How do I make it now? Should I tighten the ropes?
Give up, Give in.
Never to be seen again.
Crying walls, weeping for me.
The most inanimate objects can even see.
Breaking into pieces, breathing in ice.
Cutting my throat, slice by slice.
Cold bloody liquid runs down my throat.
I try to recall all the words I wrote.
Into the river, into the black.
My heart stands still, no turning back.
When you come back to me, I'll once again be whole.
Until you embrace me, shadows consume my soul.

I really like this. Really good job! I love rhyming couplets so I like this. Not many people can rhyme and still make a good poem.

"Breaking into pieces, breathing in ice.
Cutting my throat, slice by slice."

I love the sound of that line.

Good job!
