Falling

Falling

A Poem by Jim Lozkittle
"

Another poem written on the basis of depression

"
The monotony is getting to me
I'm falling away from this life
Slowly but surely.
I'll get up eventually
But it'll be longer than expected
No matter what I use to get lifted
I always end up dropping.
At times I'm happy
But rarely is it real
I wish I could hold my head up high
But it's just not how I feel.
This life is a bore
I only wish for more
And I can't seem to grasp
What I'm ever gonna need
To end this lapse of a wasted life.

This struck an extremely heavy chord in me! It's as if you poked at my mind a little and wrote EXACTLY what I was thinking. This is very sad, but very good.

good begining poem, however id suggest to not focus on the depression of the situation. its just really used and old at this point, i always try and make them hopeful at some point. it helps the poem have some depth to just the stright "i hate myself and i want to die" attitude.
