Manifestation

Manifestation

Manifestation

Tyler Allen

Isolation

Twisting my heart

Wrenching my brain

Wringing my soul

In my mind is an attic

The door is locked

Full of dead thoughts

The key can be found

A shroud of silence

Suffocating

Weighing heavy

On my weary eyes

I’ve grown so tired

From my journey

How many trials

Are still to come?

Haunted memory

My demon lingers

Heinous acts

I can’t redeem

The attic is open

The Devil’s chamber

Scarring the eyes

Of mere mortals like me

I hear his footsteps

Gruesomely soft

Grotesque and gnarled

His voice when it calls

He slams my door

The corner is darkened

He pleasures himself

With my pain

Insanity

I know my mind too well

Still searching for my heart

Devoured by shadows

All I wanted was love

Wicked manifestation

The grimace of sorrow

Loneliness bares its teeth

I really enjoyed this piece. The power of memories, ay? I think regret is one of humanity's most consuming emotions. Whether it is natural or you put thought into your choice of words the impact is amazing.
"Isolation
Twisting my heart
Wrenching my brain
Wringing my soul" - That had to be my favourite part, the imagery was inescapable.
