Slipped Away

Slipped Away

A Poem by Serena Kaye

Worried time after time,
What is to come?
Is this your cover?
To hide the true life you hold,
Beaten to the core of civilization,
Lifeless in your own crawling skin,
Is it even the truth?
Coming from cold blue lisping lips,
With the thoughts of a cold blooded killer,
As every word you speak is another shard of glass,
Yet who am I to question?
Blood on my hands,
Tearing out hearts,
Lifeless and deceiving,
Is this how it’s to be?
With our lives at stake,
Two cold hearted killers,
Under the same roof,
What blood is to be spilt next?
Lacerating each other’s heart,
Tearing into the skin with shards of glass,
Minds slipping in black evergreens,

Well Serena, this is beautifully macabre..Very sinister and unique most of all..Very incredibly unique!! I love every sweet, sugar-filled word for even though it rots the fabric of being it is so, SO good....If Quentin Tarantino were to read this he would have wet dreams about Natural Born Killers and Death Proof....Your excellent use of such terrorizing words is just as beautiful as Amy Lee's voice...Excellent job Serena....Although it seems you didn't end it unless thats what you were going for...Either way, Great work. :o)

Real poignant piece you've here. I just adore the certain aspect of madness and melancholy; just the type of writing that I love.
