Cold Winter Nights

Cold Winter Nights

A Poem by UpComesDown

Sip
Sip
Sip

We both sit here,
No idea what to say.

Drip
Drip
Drip

The icicles melt,
With the the dawn of the day.

Flip
Flip
Flip

"Anything interesting?"
"No, not today."

Have we become those people?
Where have our lives gone?
What happened to the zest for live we once had?
I want to scream!

Sip
Sip
Sip

I sip at my coffee, you at your tea,
Shrugging those fears away.

I love it! I absolutely agree with Imperfectly Me, we can all relate to this piece on some level. I like how simple this poem is. It's very to the point and at the same time extremely profound. You've said do much with very few words.

I think we all can relate to this in a way. We all go through the everyday and then look up and ask ourselves where our life went. I think that this shows a side of our lives that no one wants to admit happens. Our lives, when placed on a schedule that constantly repeats, gets old. I think you did a good job. I especially like the repetition. Good Job.
