My Birthday Wish

I never wanted to be

born in this world where happiness is just a fantasy.

I never wanted to be

the cause of others' misfortune and misery.

I never wanted any of these.

That's why on that specific day;

on that most dreaded and regrettable day,

please release my soul and undo me.

That's all  I wish for my birthday.

Not your basic upper here. Comes across as a death wish. I hope the speaker is willing to give it at least a few more years before writing the whole thing off. Things can change. Really.
