Humanity And Humility Can Go Together?

 My natural tendency,

when put to the test,
is truly to push you away,
desiring to draw you in,

I expect you to want to know more,
to make the first move,
and with no effort on my side,
make this into love,

Will I ever be able to achieve,
a true form of humility,
or wallow in my imitation of
self-defamation for eternity?

Forgive me, oh Lord, for
I fall to this world daily,
You give to me, I take it and walk
not even looking up to see

That all I do down here is lost,
as lazily as I lay around,
awaiting the time when fate arrives, and
your Will is six feet under ground.

Yes, we can be very good at putting up barriers/walls and pushing others aside! It is but an act of self-protection! You have described as such very well in this write!
