Back to Basics

Back to Basics

A Poem by Dripping Chocolate Madness
"

It was a standard deviation. Everything is back to normal, now. (thank goodness)

"
I walked the Rock candy footstones
that plot the path to your door;
Gingerbread Oak and a Gumdrop threshold.
And I see you inside, through sugar glass window panes,
Smiling and stirring your pot.
Come out, little witch. For, I no longer fear you.
Come out to play.
Come out with your Toll House temptations, and ply my mind with contented surrender.
I recognize your upturned lip, and your shying of the cheek.
I recognize your dangling curl and your ravenous eye.
And I know for what your soul hungers.
Come out, little witch.
For, you are equal parts sad and beautiful and fascinating.
Come out from your fairy tale.
And come into mine.

Standard deviation makes me think of math always but here I think of a young man wandering a different path and finding himself bewitched by some beauty he gazes upon. Does he wish to sample her sweets or steal her away to a happily ever after tale? Maybe both? I love this one. It's sweet. :)

Ok so first off, I would fall for Toll House temptations...very bad I know, but the ending was such a good twist. Gave me goosebumps! I’d love to find out how the witch does in your fairy tale. Have an amazing week!

Thank you! Yep...they definitely smell nice
I can't see her refusing such a temptingly well-written invitation
Although there is the occasional witch who can be a real b***h
Although I'm betting you've done your homework
