One for the road

One for the road

A Poem by Dripping Chocolate Madness
"

First kisses. First angry girlfriend's parents. Ah, to be young again...

"
Once, there were flowers.
They covered the field like foam on the sea, and we rolled in them together.
We walked home stained in rainbows of faded blues, and rusted yellows, and infinite shades of reds and greens,
Reeling, and reeking of drunken lust.
Your eyes glowed with the light of passing sirens, and I touched your face.
And you kissed me.
The smell of white wine, raspberries, and crushed grass still stains my memory.
But, there used to be romance.
And there used to be flowers.

Gee
Jeez, I know a thing or two about angry parents and parents that didn't think me good enough for their daughters.
Years ago went to pick up quite a well to do girl on a Sunday afternoon dressed in cut of jeans and vest( apologies!) Her mother answered the door, looked me up and down, never said a word to me, then shouted to her daughter as she turned on her heels " Sharon, Rambo is at the door"...Another doomed relationship :))
Your words bring a smile and many good memories.
Good morning

And now there is nothing but memories of those sweet, sweet days of early love. Its one of the sad things about getting older; that loss of innocence and first experience. Some lovely descriptions, here. A sad musing, indeed.

It doesn't make me sad. :)
Things are.
And there's beauty in them, if you look.
