No rich man

No rich man

A Poem by K. Louis

Among royalty and commoners
The lowest are richest
The richest are poorest
What does hand in hand mean?
In the first world
Where are the hands ?
But sidewalk zig zags
Mind circus the flowing
Of traffic
Nobody stops to say hello
But in the land of freedom
The 3rd world
Lay rich secrets no
Rich man can understand

alienation, aloofness...the rich get further away from us, from each other...dollar signs are their friends...those of us without...actually have more than we could ever ask for...friendship, love...a sense of what really matters.

i like the poem very much and i can relate especially with the first two lines and the last two lines. in the first world there is an alienation felt that does not exist in the third world and that in itself makes the difference.
