Realizations

Realizations

A Poem by Vaishali Menon

I realize-
Humans, so desperate, much despair;
Though the finest species on earth;
Never sated, much complaints, unfair-
Yet capable of so much mirth.

I realize-
Our speech battles our very own thoughts,
Something in mind, something else through our words.
How, with time, we change fleeting;
Inside our hearts are hustles of swords.

I realize-
Though united, we may fall apart
When the child inside us refuses to jingle.
Keep spinning, dear planet, one day we will meet-
Where our emotions tangle and our feelings mingle.
