"A Memory"

A Poem by Valentine
"

How I feel going home to the farm in the summer..My sisters and their families live on th eland now..The old house still occupied..but mom and dad are in Heaven..

"

"A Memory"

"A Memory"
Remember yesterday, youth and home
Until the years brought a need to roam.
Now the heart hungers for yesterday.
But all was shattered, when youth left to stay,
Mom, dad and home, are no longer there!
They grieved for a child, that did not care.
See the old house, falling down on the hill?
A family lived there,,,memory wants it still.

A beautiful poem for memories.
"See the old house, falling down on the hill?
A family lived there,,,memory wants it still."
I like to visit the old places. Take us back for a second. Thank you dear Poet for sharing the excellent poetry.

Lovely writing Kathie, I know that feeling too about the house falling down, my was taken down a long way back, Mom and Dad long since gone to heaven but how much does my heart still live in that house, your work rang true for me, thank you :)

I know it will happen to me too, one day they will leave and be with God. Such is life on earth. we live memories behind. let's hope there are enough good ones to keep us going and the faith to keep us strong.

sometimes a mundane object or a rundown house would catapult us years back and we relive cherished moments of our past, feeling a tug at the heart but, strangely, enjoying it.
that's what I felt when reading this beautiful one Kathie.

Thank you Woody. We all miss someone. Kathie
Wow, so much sadness in this poem, like you really want to relived those moments again... I mean, don't we all want to relived the best moments of our past? but now they're just memories, memories that are floating in a pool called our mind....
Good write Valentine, good write!

I wouldn't be human if I didn't miss my parents. Kathie
The golden beauty of your poems is just how relatable they are to everybody else. One day we all, no matter who we are, look back and long for the times when we were young, and everything was just right in our lives. Great job :)

This perfectly expresses the home sick feeling we all have in times of pain. We long for the safety that was home to many of us. Well done and straight to the point.
