The Truth

The Truth

A Poem by Vanny

Your strong lips pressed to mine. Alas, I was but a vine

Intertwined around you tightly. As the sun set low,

and the moon came out of hiding; smiled and shined down upon us.

We drifted into night, sparkling in elemental magic.

That of which came from the rejoicing of two souls

Finally being brought together, and made us one.

No matter how I try to fight it, you continue to flow through me.

Your kiss and touch, still burned into my brain.

Your scent--marvelous, as you looked down upon me;

And spoke only with your eyes

Your thoughts burned through me, all the way to my soul.

And again, I felt significant.

Just when I thought nothing was relevant.

I realized our love was.

Our souls with outstretched arms, pulling us back to one another.

And the misery of walking away would slice right through me.

As those unlucky number of days crept behind me;

Like the reaper coming to collect my soul.

Suddenly, nothing but pain was to consume me.

Pain that could only be subsided by the fire in your heart; and in your hands.

It hurt me so to finally know the truth.

The truth that shall never escape me..

And it willows away into nothing but regret;

That I let you, and my fear--get the best of me
