Peace, My Son

Peace, My Son

A Poem by VassD

Father…

Where can You be?

Where is it that You’re hiding,

And what keeps You far from me?

The pain we feel

We feel for You.

How long wilt Thou, Lord, suffer us

To bleed and die for truth?

The Ruler of the earth You are

And all the things that in them are

Would it be so hard for Thee

To light the dark and calm the sea?

Wilt Thou not remember us?

Please, dear God, remember us.

Fight our fights, yes, for the Saints

Protect Thy people again this day.

~*~

Peace, my child

And know that I am God

Know that I am on your side

I’ll never let you fall

Strength, my child

The pain you feel

Is but a single moment

And I am always near

Thy friends still stand beside thee

And I am always by thee

You yet again still do stand strong

You fight the fight, I’ll right the wrong

I will hold you up now

Don’t worry about the rest

Just keep on walking forward

And I’ll hold you til the end

Peace, my child

And know that I’m your God

Know I’m always by your side

I will NEVER let you fall

Author's Note

VassD
This is a poem based on a book of scripture, where a prophet of the Lord is praying for the Saints in a time of great need. This covers both the prayer and the Lord's response.

I know that not everyone shares the same faith, but I would appreciate it if no one made rude remarks about this or any other religion. Any "reviews" that contain anything like that will be removed.

I love this poem SO MUCH. My only thoughts are to change the contractions (I'm, I'll, etc.) in the second part to the full two words (I am, I will). It fits better with the speaker.
