Lukewarm Love

Lukewarm Love

A Poem by VelvetPotato

There's nothing worse than a Lukewarm Love,
Not passionate enough for marriage and doves,
Nor so hateful for middle finger in glove,
But comfort enough for an easy hug,
Yet distant enough for that rhythmic "off" tug.

This is a nicely relatable idea that you've transformed into artistic rhyming directions, using a ton of originality. Your poem reflects my own ambivalence about passionate vs lukewarm. On one hand, we think we want all this attention & adoration . . . until some lovable guy is in my face too much as I'm trying to be myself or live my life independently, then I start to want somma that good ole lukewarm love! *wink! wink!* Fondly, Margie

yes, this is a tough one...maybe one side wants the romantic part, the other feels just friendly...or two have had passion lose that fire and get to comfortable with each other....just as companions.
i wonder if love can ever really maintain...that spark which begins it.
