Locked

Locked

A Poem by Verin

To say I am sad would be too easy

A three letter summation

Improperly encapsulating all that I feel

It’s not just raining when the sky turns black

Each drop an icy sting

The wind is simply not blowing

When it whips your breath away

But I’m not cold

The memories keep me warm

Insulating me from the howls

Future and past surround

I'm moving in a narrow hallway

Looking for a way out

But skipping past the doors

I like your use of literary devices. Saying how it's cold but the memories warm you up.
