Just For A Day

Just For A Day

A Poem by ~VertoAtrum~
"

The same friend I've been writing about appears in this poem. This is my idiotic hope that I could magically just hug her for a whole day to say I'm sorry. No talking, no arguing, nothing else. 1 day.

"

If I could please hold you, just for a day,

And whisper the things that I’m too sad to say,

If I could just hug you, the pain might erase,

Hugging your shoulders, and touching your face,

And not even speaking, what cannot be said,

I know I’m a fool, and fucked in the head,

But if I could hold you, just for a day,

This pain and regret just might scurry away,

I could get closure by holding you tightly,

It’d hurt not to know, but only just slightly,

You’d make my tears break and turn into dust,

Broken and fleeting, just like our trust,

It kills me inside when I think of you,

Our friendship was mending, but now it’s adieu,

For the ten-thousandth time, I must say goodbye,

I wanted to fix it, I know we both tried,

But sometimes two people just can’t work it out,

We once would just whisper, but now we just shout,

Like a chorus and verses, they all need a song,

And so you were mine, but something went wrong,

But if I could hold you, for just one day,

I wouldn’t let go, please don’t fade away

ME

About
Just a spec of Galaxy dust in a vast world. A wild predator with a heart as soft as silk. A soul deeper than an ocean in a crowd of puddles. Simply, me. more..
