The Difference

The Difference

A Poem by Carla Vicknair
"

Those romantic moments that rewire your thought process.

"
I'm here and I am there.
I'm everywhere,
but am I far from your mind?

Under the black-light all was revealed to you.
My scars, my heart and my broken parts.
As for me, I devoured and chewed a very different
World with you.

And from that moment, I knew.
It was you and me, that room,
Your freckles,
Your smile,
That raspy laugh,
My thin breath,
Your fingers,
My consent,
Your virginity.

I will never ever have to choose -
I will never need to differentiate
I have not a reason or need,
To prove what the difference is
Between love and you.
