Treat Yourself

Treat Yourself

A Poem by V. P. Trujillo
"

We all reside within a single nothing.

"

 Source

Coursing with me, through me

Guided gently and abused,

Let us make up for lost time.

Mother

To my core, all matter

Instilled within spirit,

Why self-harm and use?

Breathe her alive.

I recall reading some Indian poetry similar to this, however, I found this to be just as good. The picture and the two poems remind me of a fossil, being comforted from the abuse of the world, but knowing the abuse just as well. Morally I'd have to disagree, considering hope is not within such a dark unity of human nothingness, but in the individual's pursuit of hope. But then again, that's based on my speculation, since I don't know you personally, and I didn't look too far into this poem. Forgive my impertinence. All in all, this is a wonderful poem and I am happy to have read it. Excellent job, Monsieur Vincent. :)

Yeah, I wanted to combine two Naani, as I did with my Haiku. I feel stories best come with sequels, .. read more
Never heard of this style of writing. Quite charming, I should try it. It's like two haiku's in one sharing similar content. Mother earth right now is like one large self-inflicted wound. We are the source of her pain...the source of her anger. I fear we have used her and abused her beyond any kind of repair.

Indeed, but like all things it finds a way.
The one and all expressed in this one is rich, it's poor, it's nothing as it's everything... it's just "there". And the perfect, vision, of what is "us".

I find it lovely, you breathe mother earth just as she is... it has a wink to the things that are happening right now in the world, (storms, flood disasters, strong forces ...) at least I feel so, could be way off, but wanted to mention that.... it has your selfless power, strength, love, and a voice of unity... I do like this Naani style, of four lines in poetry. A strong write here... with so little you say just all.

Plus, the picture, is well choosen. If you look closely, you see all you need ;)
(I shall always treat myself).
