Conversation Ladder

Conversation Ladder

A Poem by V. P. Trujillo
"

This is a Kyrielle Sonnet, about a Conversation Ladder.

"

Conversation Ladder

I speak to this bit of me

Of which I pause as means to see

I soon often break out of my trance

Back into thought, and leave my land

I speak to my own dreamy guise

For it are my destructive eyes

Which seek to humble-me-down

Grounded, mended and sewn

I speak to my lingering fears

Tell them this is not the place for her

I am rewarded for my courage; I believe

She can heal me so, and so I need

So I speak with her heart, and it beckons

To me in my every waking dream

Someone once told me that to daydream a lot is thought by some to be an immature act, but I disagree with that statement. I feel as if it is looked down upon early in life, by parents or educators telling children not to let their mind wander, and instead remain concentrated on the tasks at hand, the physical reality. This might lead a person to view daydreaming as a waste of time, something of which is ineffectual and tied to indolence.. but what if it actually strengthens the mind, keeps a heightened brain activity, advances inventiveness? What if it in fact develops one's ability to maintain inward focus on an issue, to come up with new ideas, different solutions to a problem?..

I do think of it as a beautiful thing, dwelling into silence by means of meditation, dwelling into thoughts via dreaming, and for the purpose to relax, to seek answers, truths, possibilities, or simply the nearness of someone on distance.

A stunning poem that made me ponder. Thank you =)
