My Tear Stained Eyes

My Tear Stained Eyes

A Poem by Violet Moon

This is actual a very recent poem that I wrote about my ex-boyfriend and how I had been feeling as we try and figure out what is best for both of us.

Tear Stained Eyes
Memories of your smiling face,
Flash before my tear stained eyes.
Thoughts of laughter and joy
Run through my head and never let me forget.
Your sweet voice echoes in my ear
As I listen to our song.
I hear you singing to me
Every time that one song plays.
I feel your hands holding me close
Even when you are nowhere nearby.
Every smile,
          Every laugh,
                    Every memory
We shared can’t leave my mind.
My heart is torn wide open,
And it feels like it can never be healed again.
Unless the mender is you.
I torture myself,
By staring at our pictures
And recalling every moment together.
The memories won't fade
And appear whenever I close my eyes.
You were and are my best friend
But that just isn’t enough.
I need you to be mine.
          To hold me.
                    To laugh with me.
                             To kiss me.
To tell me you love me.
The pain never ends,
And no one understands what you mean to me.
You expect things to be fine right away
But I can’t move on
Because memories of your smiling face,
Keep flashing before my tear stained eyes.
