Early Days

Early Days

A Poem by Virellius an Fiach
"

This is about my younger years, and how I miss them. Alas.

"

Early Years
In our early years
those sunsets meant so much more.
The cool breeze
the soft clouds
like swans, floating in heaven's sapphire seas
drifting, gliding, dissapearing behind the coming twilight.
Orange, pink, blue, purple,
a Vanilla Sky above us
the green grass, a pillow;
we lay watching the world.
Yes, the sunset meant so much more
in our early years.

Loved the section "the soft clouds
like swans, floating in heaven's sapphire seas" Beauuuutiful.
Same question as Casey O'Malley about title.

only question - is the title early days or early years?

Hmmm... the imagery is terrific, colorful and flashing. My favorite lines: "The cool breeze / the soft clouds / like swans in an aerial sea".

But I'm not sure... why did the sunsets mean so much more in our early years? Why not just as much now? It doesn't come through in the poem, to me anyway. But regardless, a good write.

Have a nice day!

So solemn and symbolic.

This is a quite lovely word painting. Reminds me of my early years. But upon second thought you are not really speaking about "age," in the usual sense, perhaps?
