I Just Don't Know What To Do

A little truth and confusion

I’ve lasted this long

Even though I’m empty inside

When you’re gone

It takes a lot to say

That maybe I was wrong

 

Suffering dreamless nights

Thinking that in my darkness

You were my light

The one star in my outer space

To shine so bright

 

This will always be an uphill fight

To win your heart

I will try with all my might

When lies blind me

I trust you to be my sight

 

They say love is blind

But to be honest

I don’t really mind

That with all the girls in the world

You were the one I was meant to find

 

 

What can I say?

With all these emotions inside

It’s hard to keep them at bay

But why should I

When you’re the one to brighten my day

 

So how do I say ‘I love you’

When you make me feel happy

And make me feel blue

With our age difference

I just don’t know what to do

I like the kind of free rhyming to this. It leaves it without a strict structure, which is what it sounds like the relation would be if the speaker acted upon his feelings. I really liked the first stanza, because that is something a lot of people can relate to. I hate having to admit I was wrong. Good poem. I enjoyed it. You did well getting the emotions across.
