I'd Rather Be Asleep

I'd Rather Be Asleep

A Poem by Skye

Why do all the heavy thoughts

drop when the clock strikes nine?

Tingeing perfect nights with

melancholy and regret?

There's nothing to these thoughts

yet still, I feel broken -

only able to catch a breath

when life demands me for the

daily dos and chores.

Finally, the opportunity to lay back and relax only to find these thoughts, worries perhaps, fears, lingering in our mind that we so wish would shut down for even a few hours. I like the tempo of this poem, it winds down nicely in your thoughts.

Thank you :)
There is something far away about this poem...I really like this it has a dreamy quality. I can feel the 'but oh...life calls' of it all. Nice write.

-- oh, i so know this feeling and that 'tinge' of 'melancholy and regret'... -- this piece is beautifully written and expressed... -- it would be so nice if 9 pm behaved like 9 am... -- also, i like the music in your choice of words...

About
Sometimes, I forget my passion underneath the demands of life and want of perfection. Then there are those nights where everything is clear, and I can't help but write what I feel. I love meeting .. more..
