Life Isn't Always What You Want

Life Isn't Always What You Want

A Poem by Skye
"

Hope you enjoy.

"

Sometimes I wish things were different

More care-free

Less heart-breaking

Sometiems I wish I knew what would happen

But not everything is set in stone

I wish it all was easier

Easier to understand

Easier to deal with

I never wanted it to be like this

Complicated

Unsure

But if everything was easy

If everything was planned

Then what would be the point of living

I'm happy the way I am

I don't know why I picked a baby seal for this, but it's cute :)

I like how you pose the questions then answer them by the end of the piece. Life to me is a melody of diversity that comes across us upon the path of life. Through all of those interactions we learn, grow and become who we are. I think the most important point you made in your last line. Being happy with who you are is the foundation to a life that shines.

Great Poem!

Amen Skye.... you express yourself so well ..and this is so true... the one thing we do have control over thru all that life throws at us is our attitude...how boring everything would be if it were easy...

every new day is another chance to change life, which is not about finding
one's self, but creating one's self, and sometimetimes the littlest things
have the biggest effect, you have an artistic way with presentation
and feeling, passionate and well written, keep up the great work ^_^

The baby seal represents the easy innocence and naivety your poem dreams of, simplicity in everything. It also represents how life is not what we want, as we are humans and not seals, nor do we own them. I think. I don't know anyone who owns a seal, but then again I don't live in an environment appropriate for seals. Anyway, wonderfully written poem. Thank you.

I like the confidence and sureness at the end of this. Life definitely is not easy, its got its obstacles. but just like you've said.. if it were easy, what'd be the point? The satisfaction in life comes from chasing down our dreams and overcoming the rough times we are placed through.

Nice job. its a real motivating read. Makes you optimistic too. :)

Yes. That baby seal sure is cute. Maybe you chose that picture because it is something you want but, as your poem clearly states, life isn't always what you want. I like the point at the end.

"If everything was planned
Then what would be the point of living"

I was actually just analyzing surprise and the unexpected and was thinking the same. Wonderful poem!
