Goodbye

Goodbye is such a terrible word...
Where there are two, there becomes one...
Where there is one, there becomes none...
I loathe the word. It has taken away so much of my joy, so many of my smiles,
so much of my laughter and consequently,
so much of my life...
I have had to say goodbye again,
So suddenly I couldn't cry,
So swiftly, I have lost my words,
In such haste that the pain is numbing...
I can see no silver lining,
No light at the end of the tunnel...
Now sorrow is my comfort
And pain my bedfellow...
Constantly feeding on my tears...
My very precious tears...
I loathe goodbye...
