Summer evening

Summer evening

A Poem by Wannabewriter16

Morning's soft air, touching everything with such gentle care,
Caresses our faces, in a quiet secluded place.
Our smiles planted strong, hearts beating on.
Only one thing is on our minds, and that is summertime fun.

A joy within us reckless and wild,
that's been in the heart of every person,
now set within us,
for there is no cure.
Our spirit is set free, soaring higher than the trees.

The worries that weighed us down so much,
now thrown on the ground.
The lakes cleansed from winter,
are now heated for splendor
The happiness of knowing,
no boundaries are set,
and not a single schedule to be met.
The sun now beating within our veins
washes away all of our pains away.

Then without a single sound,
the sun starts to sink down.
so we head inside,
Very satisfied,
until the next time.

But our spirit is just too wild and decides we should wait awhile,
So we stay outside and watch the sun,
waiting for what is coming.

The birds fall asleep the peepers start to peep,
And slowly the sunbeams caressing the hills
Turn them into splendorous views.

Surely you too love summer. Love the way you show all the things that make it
so dear to all of us. Very nicely done.

Take care - Dave
