Open thread: discuss times you have been BLOCKED for no reason here

On a previous posting, I received this review:

I'm so happy someone finally pointed this out! More than a few years ago I would review XXXX's poems. I really loved his writing, it was so artistic and creative. In fact I think he would send me read requests! Plus I even corresponded with him via messaging on here... Then one day I go on to his profile and find out that I've been blocked! I was really confused, considering that I didn't feel like I said anything hurtful or offensive. Blocking someone for no reason is really stupid and immature. It's surprising to find out that he blocked other people, I thought I was the only one. I'm glad you wrote about this.

It may well be that others need to talk about their experience of such behaviour. Here is a thread to do just that.

If you are tired of giving review to people who react negatively in return, I can personally recommend individuals who have only been seen to publicly react positively to reviews.

Please post here to get a fair hearing for your experience and be told honestly whether you 'deserved it' -- you probably did not. This is a chance to spend some time hanging out with people who share your principles!

There is a writer here, not as of yet named, in case anyone was interested, who claims to be the end all/be all. He's constantly horrid in his reviews. He never leaves anything constructive, just rudely decries the writing. Why even bother? He says he's not interested in reading anything that isn't written to his exact specifications. Given all of his bragging, I had to read some of his stuff and, while it wasn't horribly written, it wasn't the second coming of Christ, either. I gave him a thoughtful, constructive review and I was immediately blocked.

Really? LOL, f*****g awesome, these egos.

Exactly! We're here to grow, or so I thought, not collect invisible internet points. No one will get anywhere with their writing if they can't accept criticism. It builds us, helps us see things we're blind to because it's our own writing. Hence why there are editors in this world.

Interesting to see what occurred in the last few weeks, some people getting their own back and not liking it, the so called glitterati being bullies when once they where quiet as the "quality" writers kept em in check, we are talking serious published authors not the self published goons of now, shame i missed it....

Must say I deplore Tout and his crap writings and yup I too like the quoted author thought better of him, then block, but I just moved on, fuk him and his kind....

I've been blocked by someone infamous. I don't know if it was because I wouldn't accept his friend request, or because of the friends I did have? I have certainly never wagered in on any quarrels surrounding the guy.
I never liked what he wrote anyway, but I must say that when I discovered I had been blocked it did feel like a slap in the face. He might like knowing that. He may even enjoy slapping people in the face. I just think it's rude.

The mods are completely insane... just another nail in the coffin for this site. They're never around when vile, physical threats are posted but calling out blatant bullshit? That's a no-no. This place is going to hell in a handbasket.

Yeah, I thought about just leaving, but I'll wait to see if the mods react to stories of unfairness and ridiculousness. If this 'site loses its good writers and reviewers, I will pack up immediately.
